Country Breaks: Garden Route
What it is:
Coastal or in-land drive with beautiful scenes and interesting villages en route. On this tour you spend 4 days on the unique Garden Route experiencing the ultimate in culture, heritage and breathtaking views. Encounter diverse fauna and flora whilst visiting the Klein Karoo inland as well as the beauty of the coast. Partake in some exciting adventure activities and spectacular sights.
Day 1: Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
What to see/ do/ experience:
The tour starts in Cape Town from where we head to Oudtshoorn, situated in the Klein Karoo, along the charming Route 62.
Time permitting, enjoy optional activities such as sundowners on the Swartberg Pass or learn more about the galaxy whilst stargazing.
Day 2: Oudtshoorn to Plettenberg Bay
What to see/do/experience:
This morning we visit the spectacular underground wonder of the Cango Caves as well as a local ostrich farm.
We then head for Plettenberg Bay, stopping enroute in Knysna.
Knysna is one of the Garden Route’s best known travel destinations because of its beautiful landscapes and setting on a natural lagoon.
Day 3: Plettenberg Bay
What to see/do/experience:
Today you have the day at leisure to explore Plettenberg Bay, a spectacular destination offering a number of optional activities such as dolphin and whale viewing (seasonal), township tours, game drive, Monkeyland, visit to Tsitsikamma or a treetop canopy tour.
Day 4: Drive to Cape Town
What to see/do/experience:
Although the trip back to Cape Town is a relatively long one, the picturesque Garden Route – one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline – will kick-start your day and ensure wonderful memories to linger on long after our tour has officially ended in the ‘Mother City’.
